Blepharoplasty, or Eyelid Cosmetic Surgery, is an extraordinary (and surprisingly easy and painless) way to look fresher, more inviting, and more comfortable with short recovery time. This procedure can be applied to the upper eyelid, lower eyelid or both at the same time.

Blepharoplasty removes excess sagging skin and fat pockets (bags) from the eyelid, leaving scars that are small enough to be visible only with any cosmetic procedure, allowing the eye to have a clearer and refreshed appearance.

What Problems Does Eyelid Surgery Correct?
Sagging skin on the upper eyelids. The main purpose of upper blepharoplasty is to remove excess sagging skin that always causes an older and more tired appearance. The results of getting rid of excess skin on the eyelid can be quite effective but also very natural. After blepharoplasty people will often remark how fresh and relaxed you look, but they will never guess why because the scars are completely hidden in the eye line.
Under-eye bags and bruises. The main purpose of lower blepharoplasty is to reduce the appearance of under-eye bags and bruises. The delicate connective tissue that holds the natural fat packs in the correct position is repaired, and excess fat tissues that cause swelling are removed to create a straighter line under the eyes and a more refreshed appearance without bags.
Swollen pockets of fat on the upper and lower eyelids. Fat pockets can cause problems in the lower or upper eyelid, and with blepharoplasty, the fat pockets can be repositioned in a more natural place and, if excessive, can be completely removed.

How long is the recovery period?
It takes 5-7 days after upper blepharoplasty and 7-10 days after upper-lower eyelid surgery. This procedure would not generally be described as a “painful” procedure, but eyelids are very sensitive, so swelling and bruising are common, which can last for several days. These symptoms disappear completely in less than a week.

Am I a good candidate for blepharoplasty?
Since many eyelid surgeries can be performed under local anesthesia or sedation anesthesia, almost anyone can be a candidate. If you have high blood pressure, make sure your blood pressure is fully controlled with medication before your consultation and surgery. Because uncontrolled high blood pressure may cause bleeding complications during or after surgery.
